UF Transfer thread Fall 09

@rsala

i noticed ‘partial received’ also changed to just ‘received’. haha, i actually got a little excited something actually changed! -even though it may be completely irrelevant…lol

same for me.

I was bored so I tried to put some thought into this process. I’m just guessing here lol, but this is what I think UF is doing.

-Make sure the all of the applicants meet the minimum requirements ( Overall GPA, Letter of Intent, Transcripts, 60+ credits, language requirement, etc.)

-Refer the applications to the specific college.

-The college then looks through the transcripts for pre. + professional GPA and completion of required courses. This is probably where they look deeper into the transcripts to make sure applicants have the “major specific” mininum requirements (2.75 GPA in all critical tracking courses, pre-requisites, etc.).

-The newly reduced pile of applications goes to a high authority, that decides which applicants they want in the department, this high authority is probably a commitee. I think some of our applications haven’t even been looked at because the commitee hasn’t begun meeting. The applicants that don’t make it to this stage get there rejection letters immediately.

-The first couple of decisions are trivial; the community college students who have completed all the pre-reqs, and are in the top percentage of the applicant pool get their letters. Also, those that have really bad GPA’s, missing key classes, etc., probably get there rejections letters asap.

-Because of the limited number of spaces available the commitee will wait to see who’s going to take it and who won’t.

-Throughout sometime (from mid april to june), the admission commitee will know who will accept the admission and who won’t. This is probably where they start sending off the final rejection letters/ acceptance letters based on the remaining spaces they have.

I know i’m probably wrong in so many ways lol. I was just really bored and anxious today.

My partial received also changed to received. It must mean something, but probably nothing relevant.

mine too…

Yo tambi

Another question… for CLAS applicants… are we competing with people of similar majors OR agianst all transfer CLAS students?

looks like admissions check page is down. Maybe there’s updates or maybe just some downtime.

YES!!!

MAS 3105 is my linear algebra class…not even required as a PRE-REQ…so far i have a 78 on first test and 97 on the 2nd…the final is on thursday and it is worth 50% of class…B is a 75 in the course. I need a 62.5 to get into UF

Journalism Major, for Fall 2009 :)

I sat there in shock for about 10 minutes. I was emotionless when I found out, since I’ve been waiting since early September. Then I started sobbing uncontrollably. Then I couldn’t stop giggling. Really, the built-up emotion has been pouring out tonight ;)

Good luck to those still waiting.

congrats =)

Thanks! Congrats to you tooooo :)

congratulations to everyone who got accepted today.

And as far as CLAS goes i would assume you are competeing against people in your specific major.
