UGA EA Class of 2025

how do you know?

I have a current son at UGA and an applicant. Itā€™s been the exact same time the last four years ā€¦ so just an educated guess!

@VirginiaBelle As far as housing priority, it goes by when you pay the housing deposit (at least it did a few years ago with my older son). If you are accepted EA, then you will receive an email in a day or two to create your UGA account. Our first time around, housing applications opened a few days after the early action decisions were released. It wasnā€™t a large fee to pay as a deposit (maybe around $35) but it puts you ā€œin lineā€ for housing if you child decides to attend UGA. Thereā€™s no commitment, so if your child decides to go elsewhere, youā€™re only out the $35.

Thank you! Glad I asked! The housing fee at Georgia Tech is several hundred dollars so $35 sounds like a steal to get in line

In one of his comments on the blog, Dr. Graves said the ratio of Test/No Test applications was about 60/40 for the total 20,500 EA applications.

By my math, if the total acceptances is 8086, and 30% of those did not submit scores, then the rate of acceptance for the two groups was 29% for No Test and 46% for Test. That would seem consistent with the strength of the average UGA GPA for each group (3.81 and 3.99) that he tweeted earlier this week.

The portal must be in overdrive because I canā€™t even get in it right now.

The gig is up - Graves is on to us!

He definitely is! I like, ā€œ11:35 AM is generally not considered late afternoon!ā€ ?

Iā€™m sure the reason they release late on a Friday is so those admission reps can enjoy a weekend break before they are getting a barrage of why was I deferred/denied emails. I donā€™t envy their job one bit.

You want to submit your housing deposit immediately to secure your spot in line. If you donā€™t go, you donā€™t get it back but it was super reasonable last year.

I wonder if I have checked the Admissions Portal more than anyone else today, lol.

Iā€™ve been checking it since 7am GMT! (2am GA time)

Well, good luck mate!

I always check early. I discovered with ACT scores that they came out a day before the notification email for me so that primed me to expect earlier results with UGa. But when they say late afternoon, they mean it!

Word??

Theyā€™re up!

OOS EA business applicant, 3.5 UW GPA with more AP and Honors courses than regular courses at the number one High School in my state, just got deferred

4.0 unweighted GPA, top 3% of class, 32 ACT, 8 AP/DE courses. DEFERRED.

3.9 GPA, 29 ACT/31 Super Score, 5 AP. DEFERRED.

Deferred sigh

Deferred. OOS with a UGA GPA above the 75%ile of accepted students and 8 APā€™s, went test optional. Good luck and congratulations to everyone else.
