UGA Regular Decision

Hello thank you for reading my post. I have a 3.6 GPA with 5 AP Classes. I have a 28 composite on the ACT. I am an Eagle Scout and and a black belt in Taekwondo. I have done countless hours of community service and have won an award from a local Masonic Lodge for service hours. What do you think my chances are for getting into UGA regular decision in 2016?

I think you have a pretty good chance! Focus a lot on your essay, though. The only think I think that might hold you back is your gpa (if the one you listed is your weighted). Good luck!

Your GPA is low and so is the ACT. Can you take the Dec ACT? Are you on track to make straight A’s 1st semester? What will your GPA be at that point?

Your ACT and your GPA are a bit low, but I think you could get in with some luck and hard work. Focus hard on keeping your GPA up, maybe retake the ACT if you can and make sure to write killer entrance essays. Good luck!

So let’s say your UGA weighted GPA becomes a 3.9 (I did no calculation, I’m just guessing, and given that 3.6 is a unweighted GPA from your school), and your ACT is a 28. You wrote good essay’s and you have good extracurriculurs and such.

I’d say a good chance at RD, but defintley not an outright denial and worst comes to worst a waitlist.

All on this thread take out time to chance you as a favor. We hope that you will in return update us on the outcome so that we can know and potentially help others in the future.

Your score is fine. 28 is around the average ACT. As for GPA, can’t really tell you much about that but I know people who got in with 26 on ACT. I think you have a good chance on getting in RD.
