Hello! I applied regularly to UGA. I created a discussion like this before a few months ago, but I want to receive feedback from students already accepted into UGA. I have a 1330 on the new SAT and a 650 on the SAT Math II test. I have 9 AP courses as well as one Dual Enrollment College English course. I also have 6 honors courses. I play basketball and table tennis recreationally. I am an active member of my school’s HOSA club, and I made it to the state competition in dental science last year. I am also the president of my school’s stock market club. I attend a major/nationally recognized high school. I did fail the first semester of AP Calculus AB, but I retook that semester as well as took the second semester on GAVS and made an A. Also, I am taking AP Calculus BC this year, and I made a high A in the first semester. I read online that getting an F in the junior year or senior year does cause concern for the admissions office, but I am hoping that me retaking the semester as well as taking the second semester in the second semester of junior year and making an A in the class will help me out. I am also in AP Calculus BC this year, and I made a high A in the first semester. I am really hoping that these two points I made will help me out. My HOPE GPA is 3.2, and I think my weighted GPA is 3.55. I have done multiple internships at a dentist office and an orthodontist office, and I am currently on my third. I have 5 letters of recommendations- 1 from my counselor, 2 from two of my teachers, and 2 from my mentors (from my internships). Can someone tell me my chances of getting into UGA? I already applied, and there is no way for me to increase my GPA or SAT. I applied as a business major with a pre-profession as pre-dental, as I hope to become an orthodontist in the future. The decisions for UGA are coming out soon, and I am very worried.
Not a UGA student, but I’ll chime in. You have a lot of things going for you. It’s not only about GPA, especially since you did not shy away from taking hard classes and showed some grit coming back from your first attempt at AP Calc AB. The fact that you seem to have a clear vision of where you’re trying to go and have already made steps to get there with internships is also impressive. Hopefully you were able to reinforce some of those themes in your application and essays or some of your recommenders were able to do that for you. No point in worrying now. You’ve done all you can do. Try to relax a little and enjoy your last semester of high school a bit! Good Luck!
I have an update. I read how UGA calculates high school GPA, and I am able to provide new data. My unweighted GPA is 3.175. My HOPE GPA is 3.2045. My weighted GPA is 3.65.

I think you will be fine…if not, then don’t panic. It’s not the end of the world. But as far as I can see, I think you have a decent shot. Any way you could chance me as well?

I should probably include this: I got into GSU Honors college, Augusta University, Mercer, University of Alabama, and Louisiana State University. Hopefully, this will give some more information and insight. Also, according to Parchment.com, I have an 87% chance of getting into UGA, and the average percent chance of people getting into UGA is 55%.
If it helps your theory, my daughter’s lowest chance of acceptance (out of the schools she’s heard back from) on Parchment was an 81% and she was accepted. 
Does your school have Naviance? That has also been a great tool for predicting admissions for my D.

I have 5 letters of recommendations- 2 from 2 of my mentors from my 2 internships, 2 from 2 of my teachers, and 1 from my counselor. UGA decisions are coming out pretty soon now. I would like to add that I have been accepted into GSU Honors College, Mercer, Augusta University, University of Alabama, and Louisiana State University. Not sure if this can give any more clues on whether or not I will get in, but hopefully it will give some insight. Please let me know what you think.
