I’m a senior and I have been accepted into the University of Georgia with an out of state half waiver. I will hear from UNC chapel hill this month, but assuming I get in, I would like to hear some feedback about both schools. I’m from Atlanta and most of my family went to UGA, and I love Athens. However, UNC-CH has a better overall reputation and the tuition would be in state for me which also makes it 9 grand cheaper. I plan to major in business. I know that logically I should choose UNC-CH, but I am really having a tough time even thinking about it. Part of me hopes I won’t get in so I don’t have to make the tough decision. Please share your thoughts!!!
Like you said, UNC-CH has a better reputation than UGA, but if you like UGA better and can handle the $9,000 a year difference, go to Athens. For most majors, the differences in educational and career outcomes will be minimal…
I’d go to UNC for the reasons you stated.
I don’t think it really matters, so you should attend the one you like. Both UGA and UNC are great universities.
