You aren't going to be able to win an argument on why you deserve an A, just appeal to your teacher's better nature and hope for the best. I've found if you ask nicely, more often than not they'll give it to you.

thank you all!!! she bumped it up :D

nontraditional, your argument truly got to me... the fact that there must be a cutoff somewhere and that a grade is given according to mastery is true... but after talking to my teacher, she figured that on many of my partner graded quizzes and what not, there were a lot of points that my partner took off that I could have gotten back had I talked to her then. As for the letter, I did not send that one because after reading nontraditional's suggestions it seemed a bit immature?... but I think this will serve as a lesson for me, 'cause I've never been in such a case.

wow, ur teacher is nice. because mine would never do that

Congratulations. It sounds like there was a solid argument there after all, and that she recognized it.

Not that it probably matters what I think :) but I find the "if I had contested other grades I would have made the cutoff" argument convincing too.

SOUNDS LIKE GRADEGRUBBING TO ME jk i'm just jealous because teachers dont do that for me, my school is like superstrict if they did that you'd know there'll be parents suing for that A even tho their kids graduated in 1986
