UIC-GPPA.

I finally received the financial breakdown stuff for UIC today, and I was wondering how realistic that 28,000 number was?

wadaya mean by realistic?
u think UIC is lying? -hah

on another note, i agree completely with M17. For one thing, UIC GPPA has a track record of success--UIC COM the past few years has had excellent match lists, like i've said before, and many of the impressive matches have been GPPA students. UIC is inexpensive, and I'm certainly not envious of people going tens of thousands of dollars in debt b4 even hitting grad school.

As for anyone commenting on student quality...I think he/she should post their stats/CV here so we can see what real quality consists of. So how about it illinois187? I for one am most curious to learn more about the students that reject GPPA for other programs, and how much worse I am than they are.

i second that.

illinois187 i would like to know also where you got the 28 IMSA number?

Where are you going, illinois187?

he probably got the 28 from his rear end

chill out you guys....you're being really rude....be mature like honestly....i understand that illinois187 may have offended some people but you shouldn't attack him

$28,000 for undergrad is high at UIC unless you are OOS or in a grad program. The base tuition, fees, and housing for new freshman is about $19,000.

I'll post the breakdown they gave me:

Tuition 8130
Tuition Differential 1000
Mandatory Fees 3586
Books/Supplies 1200
Housing/Food 9938
Transportation 1326
Personal Expenses 1988

So, total is 27,168

Hey, I will be at GPPA next year as well : )

And I, like many of you, turned down a lot of very highly named institutions to go -- but I am so proud to be a part of this program.

hey does anyone here know how the housing stuff is gonna work out?

any current students want to chime in about it? what is the likelihood of getting JST if we applied for housing late?

In the past, if you applied past February you won't get any housing. Housing is done on a first come, first serve basis. Right now, they are having current students pick their spots for next year. After that, they'll start on the new applicants. However, if you are trying for the honors floor, it might give you a better chance.

did anyone else get their site assignment?

although the letter said i got my first choice i was assigned rockford

What exactly is the site assignment for? I filled up the form, but I don't really know what it meant. lol

means where ur going to med school after UIC undergrad

I didn't get my site assignment yet. Did anyone else?

it will come either today or monday, thats what Mrs. Volpe told me

umm, got mine:

m1: urbana
m2-m4: rockford

Also, did anyone get their orientation packet?

i got my orientation packet.

okay what on earth happened? did EVERYONE get a URP track? i havent heard anyone get chicago yet . . . i think some kind of glitch must have occurred in the system because a LOT of people got urbana/rockford and urbana/peoria.

strange. i guess we'll find out on monday when the offices are open
