UIUC CS Undergrad... Chance me?

I’m An out of state student who applied to uiuc and now I’m starting to get a little nervous. I applied to the college of Engineering in early October for CS.
SAT: Math: 700 Reading: 650 Writing: 720

GPA (weighted/unweighted): 4.36/3.91

I have taken multiple AP classes and scored a four on the AP CS exam, and am taking all AP classes (including calc AB and Physics 2).

EC’s: I spent last summer at a 7-week research program at the university of Florida and competed in a national simulation and programming competition this month, which I wrote about in my essays. I am in all the honor societies except for math and art, and have created a service club with my friends this year. I am also on the dean’s list and have received the AP Scholar award with honors. I also play tennis and the guitar along with various community service activities.

Extras: Puerto rican (born in the states), but I still count as a minority

bump

CS at UIUC is very competitive. Are you asking for financial aid ? The fact you are puerto rican will help. This year is going to be tough considering the number of acceptances, but you have a good profile. Don’t be nervous, you can only wait and see. Good luck

I’d say you have a pretty decent chance. You’ll almost assuredly be accepted to at least DGS, from which you can transfer to CS later on, if your GPA is good enough.

UIUC CS has gotten to the point where it can be considered a reach for nearly everyone, considering how selective the program is now.
