I am trying to decide between UIUC,GA Tech, VA Tech, UCLA and UW-Madison for Electrical Engineering. Just judging from the engineering ranking, UIUC and GA Tech is above the others. But school such as UCLA and UW-Madison is more known overall, nationally and internationally even though their engineering program is not as decent.

Which college would benefit me the most, and why?

It depends. Do you want to go on and get your masters, or would you rather go straight into the workforce?

Since UIUC and GaTech are so close on the rankings, the rankings may as well be negligible and you should choose based on other factors like location and money. UCLA and UW are both well respected and what it all comes down to really is what you want from your education.

Personally, I'd pick UIUC or UCLA, but that's just me and I'm mainly choosing off the factor of location. =P

Interesting choice. UIUC and UCLA are about as far apart as two campus locations get. ;)

First off, I would drop VT from that list unless you happen to like the location. It's clearly the weakest school. UCLA and UW-Madison are good engineering schools, but neither specialize in EE, and neither are top 10 EE programs. UIUC and GT have the best EE programs, with UIUC slightly better.

But you won't find much of a difference in starting salary or opportunity btween UIUC and GT, and not anything you'll notice between UW and UCLA. So, I would just visit all of those schools and choose the one that appeals to you the most.

Thanks guys. I'm leaning toward UIUC at this point, due to their excellency in overall engineering. I am absolutely sure that Engineering is what I'll pursue, but not so sure about Electrical Engineering. I may want to switch to some other engineering fields. Since UIUC is renown for many of the engineering fields, it seems the best fit as of now.

If you prefer one area of the country to another I'd think about going to school there. It's somewhat easier to make contacts when you go to school around where you want to get your first job. Any of those schools are going to get you a job if you do well in engineering there so I'd make sure to visit as many as I could and pick the one that you liked the best.
