UIUC Housing options

Hey guys! most likely will be attending Illinois in the fall and have a bunch of questions about housing options. I’m aware of most amenities in each hall, but location and people-wise i don’t know which would be best for me.
I am a female, computer science in college of engineering major,
are there certain halls that are known to have mostly engineering majors? would that be a good place to be? also I’m looking for a place that is not overly filled with parties (i appreciate my sleep) but i don’t wanna be in a hall that is super silent all the time either… as far as proximity goes… I’ve heard that as a freshman many of my classes will be near main quad… is staying near the main quad a great place to be? which of the dorms are closer to where most of my engineering classes will be? any info will help  thanks

Room #04 on 909 S First is still available for August! It’s a great studio apartment only a few block from campus. I will no longer be living there but I can tell you it’s great! Really quiet area yet there’s still always something to do. Contact Roland Realty and ask for room #04 on 909 S First

GeologyRocks, thank you for that link. It looks like six pack, FAR and PAR are where many freshmen end up if staying in university housing. Are certain dorms quieter than others or rowdier than others? How uncomfortable are the non-air conditioned dorms? Is it really important to have a dining hall in your dorm? How is the campus wifi? We aren’t very familiar with this campus yet so don’t know how important the dorm’s location will be. S is a computer science /linguistics major so will have classes on the main quad and at the Siebel Center.

My d is a freshman and lives in the Six Pack. She says the wifi works great and the lack of AC was bad during the first month for several days but she survived. She was very thankful to be part of the six pack due to location near the gym and the off campus eateries on Green St. The bus system is easy to figure out. Dining hall is nearby and she travels to other dining halls all around campus depending on the menu:) We are from out of state so she only knew a handful of people when she arrived on campus. Feel free to ask more questions and I will try to answer and I can also ask her.
