UIUC vs. Indiana

Most of the threads about these two are a little old but the same question.

UIUC - COB vs. Indiana - Kelley.
More specifically, finance major and looking towards investment banking.

Will be out of state for both and got the 11k per year at IU so far.

Please try to speak towards the actual experience at the college and not purely rankings.

Well, rankings, I believe, are very similar. I’ve visited both numerous times and can share my experiences. I have many friends that attend both. Ill relay to you what they tell me.
Both schools have TONS of varieties of kids. The smart, high achieving, stud study study kids. The drop outs or the kids that barely get by. The rich kids. The kids working 3 jobs to pay tuition. Dont worry about fitting in. You will find some group to hang with.

UIUC has about 25% of international. Most from China and Korea. Idk if that matters for you. I know IU accepts mostly states kids.

I like IU’s campus way more. UIUC is okay… Although IU is in the middle of no where, it is beautiful and large. Perfect college campus.

School spirit- both are huge schools with huge school spirit. Both have those die hard fans. Football Games are fun at both. Idk about basketball but I’ll guess there are just as fun.

Greek life. I find that IU has more greek life/parties than UIUC. Mainly because IU is really cheap for in-state kids so of course you’ll get those partiers. Since UIUC is more selective, there are less opportunities to party. Dont get me wrong though, both have insane bashes every once in a while.

Overall, I’d probably choose UIUC (i live in IL) since its cheaper for me. More academically focused. However, IU has a better business school I feel like. IU was too much $$ for me being out of state. Both are very similar!!

The $11k will make IU much cheaper than UIUC, and IU is better for investment banking, especially if you want to work on Wall Street. Lots of IU students wind up in Chicago, too.

IU is hands down better for banking. I was instate for Illinois, went to Indiana and had my pick of most major banks during recruiting.

IU, hands down.

Why? Because its IU

hmm another thing i’m interested in is dual majoring, maybe with an engineering degree? Correct me if I’m wrong, but IU doesn’t offer those?
