Hello,
I have been having trouble for a while deciding whether I want to apply for CoE or LSA.
I am currently a CS major at my University but would much rather be in CoE than LSA at Michigan. This is because I either plan to do CE (Computer Engineering), EE (Electrical Engineering), or stay in CS (I would prefer to do CS at CoE just because I feel like I would be a better fit there as I am better in STEM subjects).
So the reason why I am considering LSA is because of two reasons:
-
I am worried about the competitiveness of Engineering and feel that I would have a higher likelihood of getting in at LSA
-
I really want to go to UM ASAP, so that would mean applying for Spring 2021 (got rejected for Fall 2021 LSA BTW), and if I were to do all the engineering prerequisites by then, I would have a very rigorous workload this summer and for Fall 2021 which would be very stressful.
I also thought about applying to LSA and doing a cross-campus transfer too, but their requirement is 55+ credits (I would have 65-75 including the classes I would be taking at that time) and I also took all the required maths (Calc 1-3 & am taking Lin Alg over this upcoming summer).
Based on this information, do you guys think I should apply for LSA or Engineering? Or maybe I should consider LSA Spring 2021 and if I get rejected apply to Engineering Fall 2022? Let me know.
I know this is a lot of information, but I will appreciate any responses or thoughts given to me. Thank you so much.
