UMass Amherst 2023 Decisions

DD OOS applied 10/23 EA Nursing. Not a peep from UMass. At least PSU came clean they were overwhelmed by EA apps and had to delay to Jan 31st the decision process. EA is now the new RD !
Good luck all.

@Siiisss. One of my twins heard on Dec 26. The other is still waiting. That RD is hearing now is totally ridiculous

Hey, I just asked the admissions team regarding that early action decision they replied that they will continue to release the decisions till the end January. :((

Garfield, as per the list of grievances, I believe, from somebody else’s post here, that they have started releasing RD results this week as well. I am so disappointed with how this process has been handled for those EA candidates who have not heard. UMASSA was my first choice for my daughter (which differs from her first choice) but I think this has really tainted my view of the university as a whole.

Think they pulled Garfield because of the f-reference! I’ve been tempted many times, but guess I’ll refrain!

So hubby called admissions to say if my daughter hasn’t gotten a response yet, can she at least update her application as she has won two awards and had one set of grades go through at this point. They said she would have a decision by Friday, that all early action decisions were slated to have gone out Monday but they had a technical issue. For what it’s worth…

@carolcamille22 so is it safe to say we know Friday is the release date now?

I believe nothing anymore although it ( A technical glitch ) certainly sounds more plausible than them choosing to send out the accepted students day email before they had notified everyone from the EA decision pool.

@carolcamille22 did they say they’d release the decisions by friday or on friday? thanks :))! because maybe there is hope they will send them out sooner lol

By Friday - Good luck everyone! LOL, may the odds ever be in your (our) favor…

Ps - I was looking through last year’s thread around these dates and somebody posted that the experience at their school (in state) had been that almost everyone who ended up being deferred did eventually get in. I thought that was at least helpful to know, although by the time they found out I’m sure the stress had driven them over the edge

Umass Amherst #7

I called them and the lady said it will be released by the end of the next week and probably not positive news. But I got into Rutgers-new Brunswick business school, MSU, and IUB already…It’s weird. I cannot think a proper reason to explain why I probably get denied.

I can tell. My sat and my GPA are not low and I cannot think about a reason that they may deny me. so sad.

I realize this might be a stupid question, but does that mean we find out the end of this week, or next week? Someone said this earlier in this forum but the fact that many of us waited weeks for (possibly) a negative decision is awful.

@Siiisss What major did you apply for?

@Siiisss I kinda doubt the rest of the decisions will be denials, prob mostly deferrals and prob another wave of acceptances

@Siiisss

She said that?! “Probably not positive news”?! That’s brutal. I’m shocked she would tell you that over the phone.

In for CS w/ CHC & Dean’s Award! 1580 SAT, decently high GPA at MA prep school

@ThiccBoi420 Did you just find out?
