UMass Amherst 2023 Decisions

College of engineering applicant

@Yashp27, do you mind sharing your stats and to which major you applied

Question, does the portal update to indicate “accepted” or are all of you just getting an email (and the portal lags a few days)? ty!

The email should say something about the application status updating and there will be a clickable link that takes you to the status page where there will be a separate link to see your decision. If you get the email you should get a decision

About 6:40 ish here, too.

3.7 W 29 ACT. College of engineering. I know it’s a bit of a reach. @pama3115

Nothing yet for me. OOS.

My daughter received notification today she was accepted to Exploratory Track in College of Natural Sciences. She is in-state, and had applied to BioMedical Engineering. I’m assuming that means she’s not accepted at college of Engineering. Anyone know what would need to happen to get into the BioMedical Engineering Program if she enrolled? Probably won’t, as she was accepted at other colleges For BME, but just curious.

@tommylacroix, my D got $12K merit: OOS, Arts and Sciences, SAT 1330, unweighted GPA 3.6.

So I guess on a different thread I’ll talk about a conversation I had with the UMass Amherst bursars office regarding a billing glitch on my other sons account - but here, I will share that I also just got off the phone w Admissions again about the remaining early action decision notifications. I got the same answer as I did the other day…” all early action decisions will be out by the end of the month.” So congrats to those who have been accepted - especially in this last round. I know the wait has been painstaking for all of you! Still waiting. But putting deposits down on other schools and also off to visit UNH. Best of luck to all wherever you may land!

accepted  exploratory track in the college of social and behavioral sciences. chancellor’s award for out-of-state amounting to 14k :))) best of luck to everyone who is still waiting.

@bizymom, I am confused by people’s comments about putting down deposits now. I didn’t think any school required a monetary commitment before May 1.

@soccermomto2 https://engineering.umass.edu/current-students/academics-advising/how-to-declare-major-engineering My daughter is in the same boat - in state, applied for engineering, accepted CNS — accepted directly into engineering at UB so far so not sure whether we will still consider UMASS. Which schools accepted your daughter directly?

I think most don’t require deposits yet. But in our case, we just assured our son that we would put a deposit down somewhere right after he sees UNH. I just think it gives these kids a peace of mind to know that they have some kind of a plan in place. The deposit makes it real, and many of the schools will refund it if you don’t go.

My daughter is still waiting. :frowning:

You are absolutely right! Colleges cannot require a deposit prior to May 1st unless it is an Early Decision admissions process. Students may only deposit at one school and it’s advisable to wait until all admissions decisions+financial aid packages are received before making a decision where to deposit. No need to rush the process or deposit anywhere yet as weigh everything and best of luck!

I was accepted last night just before 7pm EST, my friend who goes to a different school is still waiting to hear. I didn’t do the supplements but one of my fellow classmates did and got in a month ago! Good luck!

I got an email said that they cannot offer me a decision at this time. I guess I got deferred to the regular decision pool

i got the same email im wondering what im going to do
