UMass- Amherst Class of 2019 Regular Decision

We are still waiting…

@kwilliszm3 - same here…

IS and still waiting. Undeclared major

In state still waiting for undeclared. Has anyone contacted admissions and gotten a date that we will hear by?

Just saw the small envelop and almost threw it away without looking at it. After all this waiting, I was pretty sure I was rejected. Instead, I got wait-listed. Now I’m not sure what to do…

I would say about 50 students, maybe more or less are waiting to hear back from UMASS. I have not heard back anything yet and my application still says under review on SPIRE, but that notification appeared about 2-3 weeks ago so I am hoping to hear back soon.

@ind1900‌ - Just so you know that SAT it a bit low for Isenberg and that 8k is given to many out of state students. I would take a second look at it if I where you. Bloomberg ranks it as #36 in the US. (http://www.bloomberg.com/bschools/rankings#5)

PS- It looks like you are looking at Smeal which is #30 on the list, I would go for whatever is cheaper in this case. Best Wishes!

@ajs1997 - I would say more like 500 and DS’s name will be the very last to send out. They will run out of stamps and decide to send it carrier pigeon instead and the poor bird will get lost and start flying to CA, lol.

@SQBrit you are so funny  I think he will get in by the way…

Congrats to everyone who got their acceptance letter, people who are still waiting … there are more acceptance letters to be sent I called the admission office and they said, acceptances will be sent until April 15. DON’T FREAK OUT

@SQBrit‌ what does your son’s spire say? under review or complete?

Still waiting, getting pretty mad

Just got my acceptance letter in the mail. It’s dated April 1st. Got into first choice major (Biology). International student from Saudi Arabia. Got awarded chancellor’s scholarship of 8K per year, renewable for 4 years. 2050 SATs (790 WR, 630 CR, 640 M). 3.4 GPA (Many Ds and Cs in the sciences). Intel ISEF 2 awards and lots of research experience. Full paid scholarship by homecountry’s government. Good luck to everyone else, acceptances still rolling until April 15, don’t lose hope!

@logan713‌ be patience you will hopefully get in \m/

@mostapha i’m trying! The wait is just incredibly long

@logan713 I have waited 3 months to get my acceptance letter and I was freaking out … hopefully you will be fine! don’t worry!

Still no news. sigh

I have what might be a weird question (I am unfamiliar with how scholarships and awards work). I received the Chancellor’s award of 8K per year, but I am under a fully paid scholarship from my home country. Does this financial award only go towards reducing my tuition, or would I be able to use it towards other expenses?

@Rebecca1212 - yehhhh- you are still an official member of the “last to hear” club! That’s awesome (for me) :"> So I checked the calendar and if @Mostapha is correct we might not receive anything in the mail until April 18th. Hard to believe. Then again, maybe not…

@Mostapha - thanks for sticking around.
