I am a freshman at Texas State University in Texas.
I have about a 3.3 gpa as of right now and hopefully going to raise that!
I am planning on transferring to UMASS Amherst in the fall of 2009!
does anyone know what UMASS looks for in transfer student!!
and what part does being out of state play on admissions?

anyone know anything?

help???????????

...why did you make a new thread saying the exact same thing as this thread and you still reply asking for help before even checking if someone replied to your other thread?
Anyway I'll copy and paste the response I wrote in your other thread:

Umass is a state school so their entrance requirements are pretty black and white when it comes to admissions.. meaning your GPA and SAT score are weighed and if you're above the bar.. you're in. Umass Amherst was one of the schools I applied to as a freshman and I had no trouble getting into it with a gpa slightly lower than yours.

The Umass schools are also widely known to be very "transfer-friendly." I believe something like 1/3 of the students who attend Umass Amherst have transferred from another school.

So the transfer-friendly attitude combined with the rather easy state-defined standards for admission make it a great school to transfer to, you shouldn't have too difficult of a time getting in. Good luck!

williams,
Sorry, my mistake, not the OPs. I moved this thread from the Admissions forum without checking to see that she'd started a thread here too.
I'll close down this thread and let folks respond to her other one.
