Umass college of engineering, do I have a chance?

I was wondering if anyone could give me some insight on whether I might get accepted or not to umass Amherst college of engineering, I here it it extremely competitive.

Im currently a high school senior. This year I take AP Calculus, AP Biology, AP Physics, have taken AP chemistry in which I got a 4 on the exam and nearly a 100 (83 first term) every term in the class, I have taken calculus I at Bridgewater State College and I am currently taking calculus II and microeconomics. I got a 4.0 in Calculus I and received above a 95 in both AP calculus and AP Bio each term and a 100 in AP physics two terms in a row; my GPA is aprox. 3.3 unweighted, i have taken all honors classes throughout high school, the GPA is just a little low because freshman and sophomore year I was not as motivated as I am now, the past two years have been an enormous improvement. I went from A,B,C's to all A's last year and this year...

I am in the chess club (2yr), debate club (2yr), student council (4yr) this year I am treasurer, key club (2yr), National Honor Society (1yr), Math Club (1yr), Photography Club (2yr), I was also selected for the Boy's State Program.

I have been working at a local cable station for the past six years or so and for the past 4 have been the director of a show. Additionally, I also have my own photography business; for the past 6-7 years photography has been a hobby of mine but in the past two it has become a business. This past summer I did over 50 seniors senior portraits from 5 surrounding towns in my area, I also work with a local photographer where I photograph weddings and other social events. I also do a lot of sport photography and wildlife photography.

I can post my essay if anyone wants to read it...

additionally, I did not include on my application that I was enrolled in calculus II and microeconomics because I had not been totally sure I was taking the classes, should I call and inform them? Also, they do not have my official grade, should I also send that?

Thanks,
DB

also, is there any particular way I should go about sending them the new information... my grades from first term at bridgewater state and the fact that I'm taking two classes there now?

Thanks,
DB

To be honest, I don't really know much about the UMass School of Engineering. You seem to be very passionate about photography, which is a plus. Directing at the local station is also very interesting. Although you GPA is average, I think you will do okay. Maybe post your SAT/ACT scores so people can help more... I'm not sure if you have already submitted your grades, but you probably don't want to say that you got 100% in an AP class...this might sound like grade inflation or that the class was simply too easy (or maybe it was a super hard class that you excelled in- in that case, great work!!!!)

I think you could email the dean of admissions with your question or ask a college couselor. Taking college level courses is a great thing, and they probably would be happy to know about it!

thanks for the input. But ya, the AP physics class is not easy but thanks for the concern, lol. I forgot my SAT scores, I got a 540 in math, 560 in English and 690 in Chem, the math score does not reflect my math abilities AT ALL, I really should have re-taken the test, but I didn't have the time to; would the college realize that I might just not be good at the SAT math because shouldn't they see how well im doing in the college math and the AP calculus?

just got accepted today to WPI, I applied early action round II.

Congratulations!

lol, thanks! any input on if I could get into umass college of engineering? :D

bump, anyone have input on the college of engineering at umass Amherst?
