College Park is sort of a reach for me so I was wondering if I attend UMBC would I be able to transfer second semester? I have heard alot of people specifically say attend UMBC then transfer 2nd semester but i was also wondering would i still be able to transfer 2nd semester is i attended salisbury or towson or any other school for that matter?

The school from which you are transferring does not generally make a difference if it’s all in state schools. UMBC is a great school. Try it, you may like it. If you’re really set on UMD for transferring, go to a school where you can have fun in the meantime, and own all of your classes.

I know this is an old thread, but I have a similar question…

If you go to UMBC for the first semester (fall), then what is the process to transfer for the spring? Can someone explain this?

Would you be considered a transfer applicant or a freshmen applicant? the reason I ask is because to be a transfer applicant you need to have at least 12 credits after high school. and if you apply during/before that first semester you wouldn’t have completed any college coursework, but at the end of that semester you would.

Can someone who either knows about this or has had experience with this explain this to me?

umd freshman applications for spring semester have a Dec.1 deadline…and decisions are released on a rolling basis

umd transfer applications for spring have a Aug.1 deadline…and decisions are released in october

bump…anyone?

I would like to know this as well.

can somebody answer this questions??
