@Swimming123 How did you come to that conclusion? I thought that there we almost equally ranked for undergraduate business.
@BananaSpliter1 - Of course you will get in. I assume UMD is your safety school?

@wheatonmom - I based it on every ranking I have ever seen for undergraduate business schools including US News, Forbes, College Guide, etc.
@YoungJavi
You exceed the average stats and you have a hook (being URM) You seem to be an obvious admit to me. But again, we aren’t admissions reps at UMD.
Hey All, when the decisions are released, do you plan to post them in this thread or make a new one?
@youngjavi, you’ll get in, hang in there
@YoungJavi - I’m not an admission counselor but I would bet the bank you will get in. Go to the Common Data Set for the college (or any college) and you will see that you are more than qualified for admission. I understand that sometimes admissions don’t make sense so there is always that fear.
so are we all still betting on decisions coming out friday? not tomorrow to next week?
My money is on tomorrow. And if necessary, tomorrow at 5.01PM I will quickly change my bet to this week Friday.
I hope tomorrow ^:)^
They just welcomed Terps back to campus for spring semester so I think it’s tomorrow.
Tomorrow would be amazing, but right now I feel it will be Friday. After all, aren’t they known for releasing on the last Friday of the month? (I may be wrong on that)
hi guys, i wanted to ask your opinion on declaring a major undecided. im not sure if this is an edge or not, as i know the school of business and architecture at maryland are fairly difficult to get into and credentials should be rather impressive. please let me know your thoughts
@curious999 I decided to apply undecided, but I would NOT recommend doing so if you already know end goal is to get into the business school. Just apply to the business school! Worst case scenario, you are rejected from the B-school but get general admission with an opportunity for an internal transfer later.
Hey the nerves are killing me - what do you all think my chances for getting into Business @ UMD?

Guys quick question, would appreciate if everyone helped me out. If I applied for Smith School of Business as my LEP and selected Kinosiology for my LEP alternate major, does that mean if I don’t get in Business I get potentially put in Kinosiology and then Letters and Sciences if I don’t make my alternate either?
@ccmem3000 you will get in
@ccmem3000
Gpa’s a bit low, but being a NMSF is huge. I think that will get you in. Good Luck!!!
@Mason135. Typically, if you are not admitted to a LEP major, then you are placed in Letters and Sciences advising college rather than your “alternate major” choice. The reason for this is that they assume you ultimately do want to pursue the LEP major, so the L & S advisors are trained to assist you in select courses that will make you eligible to apply as an “internal transfer.”
