You will receive an email that takes you to the result in coalition
Just a little bit worried. Although my application says submitted on Coalition. I never received an email from UMD confirming it. Should I be worried?
@andrewch18 I don’t believe my DD got a confirmation email either. Communication from UMD has been lacking.
Hopefully, if the portal says the application is complete, it’s all set.
on my coalition it says that everything was recieved before november 1st (my recommendation, transcripts etc) and that i submitted my application dec 31. but it says my application complete date is november 2. does that mean i won’t be considered for priority even though everything was received before nov 1?
Everyone relax. Nobody got confirmation emails. Also, they said it could take the portal 48 hours to update that things were received- and if the date is wrong, don’t stress. They do not hold it against the applicant if the counselor sent your recs a few days late. If the application date is showing past Nov 1, it may be worth a quick email to admissions, however it most likely is fine.
Based on history, UMD seems to post their results the last Friday of January. My son was informed on 1/26/15 (a Friday) and last year they notified students on 1/27 which was a Friday. My guess is that they will send today. Also, they generally send out later in the day. Good Luck! My D is waiting to hear as well. At least we currently have 3 acceptances so she has a “home” for next Fall.
@thegoodnews They inform the students immediately if they are accepted into the different Honors/Scholars program, if memory serves me right.
an exciting Friday it will be then!
Does anyone know if the UMD Health Center hires medical assistants? I should probably be accepted first but just wondering.
Can anyone help? I cannot log onto UMD applicant portal. How did you receive your PINs? I haven’t been contacted by the school with this info as far as I can see?
Yes, honors/scholars program are included in the acceptance decision.
Does anyone know how heavily GPA factors into UMD’s decision? My GPA is quite low, a 3.8 weighted, but I believe everything everything else is strong (1370 SAT, 9 APs, strong rec letters/essay, lots of extracurriculars, 300 ssl hours) sorry for asking at such a stressful time, I am just curious to know if these might compensate for my GPA. Thank you!
Under “Your Application Complete Date Is” it says “not received” even though it says “Freshman application submitted: Nov 1, 2017” on top. Does this mean I will not get a decision for early action?
I would call admissions asap!
@trp2000 did you look at the application checklist on the Coalition? There should be received dates for every part of the application - submission date, transcript, recommendations received, test scores received etc. If any of those items are missing you won’t have an Application Complete date.
@gemini2727 There is no pin or MD portal. You would have applied on the Mycoalition app. You will just log into there to get your decision. Good luck to everyone!!
@croaswife oh no I just realized my guidance counselor didn’t submit my transcript, but it says he “started” it. Will I be considered for regular decision after he submits it?
Did you see this in a Naviance account? If so, it may not mean anything. You can certainly ask your guidance counselor for clarification or contact UMD admissions to see if they have it on file. Sometimes the right hand and left hand are not in sync, but all is well.
@trp2000 I would contact admissions and see if they can help you sort it out.
@croaswife so I should just call and ask them if they received my transcript?
