UMD College Park class of 2022 EA discussion

@college34476 how do I check?

It is quite an embarrassment to change all social media with “finally #nowaterp” and then… Nothing. Someone has some explaining to do come Monday… Lol.

@WilliamNYC Indeed they do. Anyone think tonight is still a possibility? Slim chance I️ would say.

it is 100% an error on UMD’s part. They wouldn’t have changed all their social media for no reason. They are probably scrambling right now to fix it, maybe check again today at 7:30 and then call it a day. Hang in there everyone!

I’ll see what I can do, just sit tight. Chances are they’re having technical difficulties, seeing how it’s their first year on Coalition. I’ll handle it.

@18class I agree, at first I thought it was a coalition glitch, and it may still be, but it’s not even like we got an email with a link to the Coalition that didn’t work or was faulty. While emails are not always guaranteed/come through, it would have given more insight to a Coalition glitch if we HAD gotten an email. I think they may be trying to fix it now, but not sure. No matter what happens, I wish everyone here good luck on the day they are released!

Your email explanation doesn’t add up @jsnb2001. It’s most likely the coalition app that pushes these emails out to begin with as all our records are in that App. If coalition has issues, the emails are not going out either.

@WilliamNYC true, I just thought that the school had been the one to send out the emails. It does make sense that the coalition would send out the email.

Ironic to think that IF letters went out today via USPS (doubt it), local students could get their decisions via USPS before they get their decisions on line.

I am a TERRIBLE wait-er. You’d really think that by the time I was this age I would be better able to just relax and await news. Nope.

After getting deferred at what could have almost been considered a “likely” school (fortunately one that i don’t think was near the top of his list of four universities) it would have been really great for my son to get good news from Maryland today. It’s so hard seeing your kid disappointed. I know he is going to end up somewhere that he thrives (he has two great choices on the table and may have a third with Maryland). But I also vividly recall realizing I wasn’t going to be able to afford my #1 choice of colleges as a HS senior and it was unbearably disappointing. As it was, I ended up at a state school, met incredible friends, received a great education debt-free and met my husband.

Hang in there everyone.

Well. Guess see you all Monday - seems unlikely.

That makes sense. UMD is using the Coalition for the first time this year, so maybe they ran into unexpected problems.

Can someone chance me?

How about we all take to social media with a new hashtag? #NotYetATerp

Seriously, you’d think they’d post a very brief update on social media. This seems almost cruel.

Good idea @STF4717

Social media can actually create an impact. I wouldn’t be surprised that if it gets admission’s attention, they would at least give us an update of what happened.

@STF4717 great idea tbh

Why? Because we’re impatient? No one from admissions promised or gaurunteed we would get an answer today. They said by Feb 1st.

@geebee23 they also didn’t guarantee it. :))

No one seems to be posting or tweeting anything…I guess others are more patient???

Yo they’re up!
