UMD honors vs WUSTL for comp sci

I am trying to decide between going to University of Maryland in the Entrepreneurship and Innovation Honors program vs. Washington University in St. Louis. I really like both schools even though they are very different. UMD would be in-state for me, plus I was awarded the dean’s scholarship, whereas WashU is extremely expensive. I think that I would choose WashU, except for the fact that their computer science program is not even ranked, whereas Maryland consistently ranks very high for computer science. So even though WashU is the more prestigious school, I am having trouble deciding if it is worth the money when their comp sci department is not very well recognized. Any advice?

Chose a school for fit, not prestige.

UMD has a very good computer science program, and as you know, the tuition is significantly less expensive. Unless you have some other reason for wanting to go to Wash U, I really don’t see this as a difficult decision.

Both are outstanding schools. You really can’t go wrong with either as they are both prestigious and can give you great opportunities.
