UMD Public Health Scholars or Honors chances?

I know honors is really hard, but do you think I have a chance/or for scholars? I am applying for the public health major. Maryland is at the top of my list and my mom and uncle went there.

SAT 1430/1600 (660 CR, 770 M)
(I heard they dont consider writing which sucks for me because my superscore is a 2200 with my 770 writing from another test-side note-should I even bother to send my second SAT if its not as high as the first one, it just has a good writing score?)
GPA 97.4/100 UW (my school does not weight)
We do not rank
Small, highly selective magnet HS with less than 70 kids in my graduating class
White female, NJ
Lots of activities-NHS vice pres, camp counselor, internship at a doctor’s office, waitress, officer for 3 years in big club at school, SMAC, volunteer at my school, SHS, high honor roll all of HS, etc.

I visited/went on a tour last fall.
I also know an alum who helps w/ admissions that lives in my town, hopefully he will put in a good word for me.

@laughandlearn23 - Honors and Scholars are very tricky to predict. I’ve been following this forum for a couple years and there are surprises every year. I don’t think your choice of a major is a factor in Honors/Scholars admission. Get your app and related material in by Nov. 1. UMD does want all your test scores, and they DO superscore. I guess it’s your call on the SAT. Good Luck.

SoofDad is right- invites to one program or other can be unpredictable. However, based on what I can tell, it seems that in addition to test scores/gpa, honors looks primarily for quantity of AP classes taken (relative to number available at your school).

@SoofDad @maryversity thanks for the feedback, I am going to definitely apply early action. By the end of HS I’ll have only taken 4 APs
