MTMama -- you mentioned "yes" phone calls and rejection letters.
Does that mean that UMich always calls applicants when the answer is "Yes" and sends a letter if the answer is "No"?

onethousandsteps...i dont think so, some people have always received by e-mail, i think it really depends...

did anybody else at their UMich audition get asked to do both monologues? I did my first one, and then he asked to see my second one aswell....i was just wondering if this was a bad thing...

and the waiting is killingg me...lol

i know this subject has been touched upon, but if I have NO piano experience, is it ok to just go in with nothing? I know how to read notes, just not play. Should I bring a really basic piece, or just have the test they give me/ what IS this test they give the students who don't play?

Thanks :)

alot of people at my audition in Chicago did not play the piano, they just went in and stated that they could play if necessary and they would love to be trained etc. but everybody did not have to play...it would be nice ot play something though..Mr. Wagner likes that..

Hi Kayla! You are right btw, the last audtion is 3/3, and my D will be attending this one in NY. Anyone else going? Benzy, I'm assuming you'll be there?

oh ok thanks tashmu..im really rooting for you and your daughter :-)...your daughter is so talented :-)

Thanks so much,Kayla. We are rooting for you too, darlin'!

we'll be there for the audition this sat 3/3 as well. see you guys there!

Are you going to the am or pm session? We'll be there in the pm, 1-4, I believe!

i'm actually going to Michigan on 3/9, but they said that I could show up in NYC and just hope someone isn't able to make it, so I think I'm going to do that as well because it is so much easier for me to get into NYC as opposed to flying to Michigan

Good luck, Benzy!

About dates - March 3rd is the last audition date outside of Ann Arbor - but there are still two dates left for on-campus auditions - March 9th and March 30th. These are on the list of audition dates on the UMich website.

tashmu and shellipearl, I'll be at the 3/3 audition in NYC as well!

Good luck you guys!! The audition is great...and Brent Wagner is amazing....you are going to have funn!

yay! there was a cancellation and i will be auditioning on Sat. in the city :)

A few more quick questions for those that auditioned:

1) For my monologues, are they nicely asking to give them the option of two contemporary monologues, or it doesn't matter just as long as it isn't Shakespeare.. because I really like my Moliere monologue and would love for that to be one of them that they pick, I'm just not sure if the guidelines were nicely asking for the option of two contemporary, or whether they just don't want a poem or Shakespeare!

2) How was the dance audition in comparison to some of the other schools?

I'm so excited :)

Thanks again!

I know some of guys guys auditioned on the 3rd..how was the audition ? :-) I hope that all went well :-)....

oh my gosh...its been like 35 days since i've auditioned for them...i checked on the website to see my status because all of my friends that auditioned the same day as me from CMU got rejected :-(, so ic hecked and it said that they have made a decision and it should be sent out to soon...so then i called the school to see when i would find out..and she went and asked and said that they wanted to see the auditions on March 3rd and 9th and then send me their final decision no more than a week or two....so the 9th has passed and im still waiting..and everyday has me in agony...cause i havent been accepted anywhere...this waiting is hard...:-(

Hi Kayla, when my D was there (3/3)they told us they would look at 3/3 and 3/9 "batched" together, and then decide after that. They then said it would take two weeks to go through the admin. process and mailing, and to expect to hear after 3/23. Hopefully, you won't have to wait for "snail mail"to B'bados!Perhaps they'll e-mail you. Oh hang in there, it's awfully tough waiting!

Kayla, I know how hard it is to wait. Be proud that your app is still in the running at UMichigan and apparently at Otterbein from what I have read. While it is nice that many applicants have heard from some schools already, many other schools do not let candidates know until April 1. And so while it is nice to know sooner, it is not "better" to hear sooner. The timeline at certain schools just is what it is. At least you are still being considered and that is a positive thing. I hope one or more schools come through for you. The wait until April 1 when most schools decisions will be out is not much longer.

My D just received notification that she's cleared to audition, and on the date that we preferred. Can anyone tell me how late the audition could run if she is scheduled later in the day? I'm planning on driving to Cincinnati afterwards for her audition there the next day, and wondering if I've planned poorly? Not that it would make any difference at this point...I can just start beating myself up over it sooner! :-)
