I am currently a sophomore in the College of LSA at Umich Ann Arbor. I would like to transfer to the College of Engineering. My GPA is about a 2.8 (orgo really killed my GPA). What are the chances I am accepted? Has anyone been rejected? I got a B in Calc 1, C in Physics 140, B+ in EECS and an A in English 125 (The pre-reqs). I still have to take the last pre-req, Calc 2, next semester. I have a feeling my chances aren’t very good, Thank you!
What were your grades in Chem 130, 125, 126, 210, 211 and Physics 141?

Make sure you have all the requirements or will by the fall. You need a 2.5 gpa.
Engineering avg GPA after first semester is 3.3 through senior year so you are doing fine. Michigan as you are finding out is really tough…even for the LSA classes.
My son transfered after his freshman year. He applied right before the deadline and got accepted like the following week but still had to finish up classes in spring for the requirements. He took like 18 credits each semester.
I think the application has to be in by February 1st so see if it’s up and just do it during the break. Take time on the essay for it.
BTW - things don’t get easier but hang in there. It’s not supposed to be easy. If you want it then go for it.
I got a B in Chem 130, A in 125/126, a C in orgo, A in orgo lab, A in physics lab
@andreaumich21…your doing great. Again, it’s not supposed to be easy. This is a tough school. Apply and see how it goes. What type of engineering? Just wondering why you took orgo?
I was considering pre-med or dental school, so those are requirements for those paths. I am no longer considering pre-med and I am thinking I will go with mechanical or electrical engineering
Nice… I thought so. When you have a chance email Bryon Encohs or go visit him when back in school. He’s a great resource for you. https://www.engin.umich.edu/… His information at bottom of the page. He will help you as much as he can.

Try this one…
What was your son’s GPA when he transferred?
I really don’t know but not as high as he hoped for. You just need to be above the minimum
