UMich Econ vs UMD Finance?

Hi, I'm a rising junior that attended University of Michigan for the past 4 semesters studying mostly economics but also took enough business classes to meet the requirements to enter University of Maryland's business school.

Would an UMich degree in economics at UMich's school of LS&A (their general Literature, Science, & Arts school, not a business economics degree at UMich's prestigious Ross School of Business) be better than a business degree in finance at University of Maryland's business school (ranked in the mid 30's)?

I want to pursue a job in the field of business, economics, or finance, possibly become a financial analyst. I read that economics degree holders can become financial analysts, but I am wondering if the more specific degree in finance at Maryland and opportunities to manage actual funds and other finance-related activities would look better on my resume. The overall prestige (and network) of Michigan, I believe, is higher than that of Maryland's.

Thanks in advance for your input!

Maryland is simply not in the same league as Michigan whether you are in Ross or not. I would stay at U of M and network really hard to land a good job which is definitely doable. I would say a Michigan degree holds more weight even in the DC Metro area than a Maryland one even though the latter has home field advantage.
