Umich or Vanderbilt for Pre med?

I am an international student hoping to pursue a career as a physician. I am aware that it is extremely difficult to get accepted into a medical school as a non US citizen. I was recently admitted by umich and vanderbilt, and I plan on following the premed track at either one. Considering the chances of getting into a medical school, difficulty of getting recommendations, access to research, internships, and clinical experience, which do you recommend attending?

Also will I be better off at one given that I am an international student?

P.s. I am able to afford the tuition at both, so cost is not a problem.

You can attend either school. But I recommend you take medical school in your own country and if you want, you can become a physician in the USA as an FMG.

The chances to be admitted in an us med school is less than one percent for you.

Thank you for your reply, artloversplus. I know my chances are very low, however, I graduated from an international school and therefore is very difficult to go to universities in my own country.

Perhaps you should look into schools in Hong Kong, Singapore and some of the European schools. Most of them admit medical students from HS, unlike those in the US.

Go to a school you like. Ignore the premed factor. It is worth reading this reflection from an international premed student – http://talk.qa.collegeconfidential.com/admissions-hindsight-lessons-learned/2084730-reflections-from-a-former-cc-aficionado-who-just-graduated-from-an-ivy-league-college.html
