Umich Transfer Thread: Winter 2018

I got accepted! The decision was posted last night. Everyone please stay positive and patient!
@Berney707 Yes I’ve noticed the same thing, so don’t lose hope!

Congrats man, and thx. Hopefully will meet you guys January on campus

Rejected with a 3.86 24 completed credits(37 completed after fall is done). Email from admissions counselor said “we’d think you’d be a better fit for Fall 2018 once you’ve completed more college work. Please don’t hesitate to contact me to discuss your upcoming classes to make you a competitive applicant for Fall 2018”.

I have a 4.0 right now across the board so my GPA will be a 3.9 after this semester. I only wish they would’ve asked me to send my grades in progress :frowning:

I just got my acceptance in WA. It has been a stressful wait, but it is finally over. Best of luck to those still waiting.

@Mantha3993 Hey, that’s really unfortunate. On the bright side, though, your counsellor didn’t say that Michigan didn’t want you. There’s still time, and I think you ought to apply for the fall, because it seems like you have a really good chance of getting in.

Yes @Mantha3993 don’t give up. It seems that U Mich prefers to accept transfer students with 40 or more credits completed so they can begin as juniors.

Congrats to you @dwane1 !

Has everyone who was accepted received their invitation to choose housing? What/where is the best option?

Concrd mom why doesn’t your son actually get involved in this thread rather than you figuring out everything for him?

Maybe because he doesn’t have an account . Why do you care?

I just think it’s more beneficial if the person actually attending U of M contributes and shares info on this page like everyone else on this forum. It takes a few seconds for him to make an account. There is no reason for a grown college student not to be engaged in this forum while their mom is.

Great, now I feel like I’m the only one here who is still waiting for a decision. I can only hope after all it’s worthwhile. I have been declining offers elsewhere to keep waiting. Soon or late it will be U of M or nothing for me.

Has anyone heard about transfer credit?

@jdance , yeah I received my transfer summary yesterday. It should be sent to your original email and not your umich. You should also get the information about housing. @ConcrndMom, based off of what I have seen from videos and forums, Betsy Barbour is central and has better access to most of the campus, also more freshmen and first year students are located there. As far as Northwood III, I liked the floor plans and the rooms a lot more. So your son will have to decide whether they want convince, or distance and better quality (IMO). Mind you, this is not from experience, but rather through research and videos. And thank you for the congratulation. Best of luck and hope this helped.

convenience, not convince.

And I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you Berney707. Best of luck and you got this!!

serious question, is it possible for transfer admissions to get rescinded? like how in highschool we had to finish strong senior year or else we could get our admissions rescinded. currently doing really bad in my accounting course and little bit worried.

@val143 It is possible, but it only rarely happens. As long as you dont deviate too far with the grades you applied with, you should be okay.

I mean, im currently getting roasted by my Physics E&M professor, so we’re in the same boat lol

@dwane1 thanks. When he signed on to choose his rooming the only options he was given were Bursley Hall or Northwood lll. He chose Bursley as his first option bc he wanted to be close to the dining hall.

accepted

Accepted to LSA. Any international freshmen here?
