which school should i go for?? i applied for those schools.. My major is EE.. i already got acceted to GIT and Umich.. I think i will get accepted UIUC and UCLA too.. does any one tell me where i have to go?? im in BS

Hmmm. I'd probably go to the cheapest one, considering they are all excellent.

The difference in quality of education are all excellent and career prospects also no difference. Think about the cost difference and quality of life during the four years and weather. "umich & uiuc is 20F"

Are you a California resident?

all damn good schools, and pretty much equal in engineering too. it's going to be hard to eliminate one. You gotta eliminate 3 :D good luck

What job/career are you interested in?

Where do you plan on working?

What industry?

I wanna work at some electronics companies like GE, Sony, and something like that. I wanna work at anywhere the company need me. I also have a question... UIUC EE is really good?? Because I've never heard before but my friend said it's good.. So, I applied there.. Is it a good school??

all of them are good in EE
if i have to eliminate one, I'll go with Umich first
the other 3 are still deciding ... pending ...

They are all about the same in terms of quality, choose the one with the geographic location or campus features you want.

As everyone already said, all of them are top schools, so I would use cost as the primary metric. If the costs are similar, then you may want to consider the location. For example, Atlanta will be much warmer than Ann Arbor or Urbana/Champaign. It's also a bigger city, with more things to do.

P.S. It's GT, not GIT ;)

If you hate cold weather, stay far far away from Illinois. It's freezing here in Chicago, and anywhere within a three hour drive from here. Today was probably the warmest it's been for a while - a nice 13 degrees.

I would go for UCLA in terms of academics, sports, girls, and weather. That is, if cost is reasonable.

bump, I'd like to get some more info on this... I've applied to all 4 of these schools, and I'm thinking GT right now, cause of the town and the weather, and the fact that UCLA is $10K more for me (I'm from Canada). But I've heard horror stories about the people at GT, and the fact that there are no parties on campus, or any good-looking girls. Any truth to these rumors? Which school should i choose?

MKDaMan, Yes, Georgia Institute of Technolog, it's prestige engineering school. nice climate and 450-acre campus in the Midtown of Atlanta.

MKDaMan1818, there are definitely parties on campus, especially directly north of the campus in the area called Homepark where many students live. There are good looking girls on campus, and you'd be surprised how many of them there are. But not many of them are in the ECE department (I can't speak for another dept).

I'm at GT right now, and it's 65 degrees right now, whereas it's around 30 in Chicago and Mich. ;)

There are good parties and people on campus, not to mention another campus across the street (GSU) and several other campuses within MARTA distance. So, you really shouldn't need to leave campus for social activities, but if you want to, you can. Also, there are several things to do in the city (clubs, shopping, fine dining, etc.). So, those who complain about social life are generally whiny *******s who stay inside playing Halo all day.
