Isn’t Hail a program for kids from low income families or districts?
Has anybody received an email to create a UMich account?
@DreamforIvy - not yet received any emails. I applied 10/30. Emailed my state admissions counselor today - no response. Read in these forums that it takes about 10 days for UMich to send that email. Entire senior year is a “learn to wait baby” year!
My daughter received the email with a link to set up portal almost 2 weeks after the application was submitted.
I applied on the 22nd and got an email to set up my portal on the 27th.
@Rollout That’s the HAIL scholarship. HAIL as a whole is a much bigger program than just the low-income scholarship they give. I think HAIL is almost like a group of alumni volunteers that help students that attend UMich with many tasks, in addition to helping the admissions staff in various ways (i.e recruitment, interviews, etc). That’s what I gathered from the brief description of it on the website at least.
My daughter submitted her app on 10/16 and received the portal email on the 19th. Today she received an email saying that her application was complete and qualified for EA. Now we wait!
I submitted my app on 10/11 and got a portal email by 10/14.
- I LOVE Weezer
- Got the same email today, blessed
- It’s gonna be a long wait
- Good luck to your daughter
@UofMorMSU That’s awesome! And yes, long wait. I don’t know how we will be able to stand it! This is her dream school. Good luck to you, too!! Fingers crossed for everyone!
I applied 10/29 and just got my email with the ID today
@pinkdog13 What time?
@DreamforIvy - I know you addressed the question to someone else, but I applied late evening 10/30 and received my portal invite email today (11/3) morning at 8:25AM
@MedSciBud Thanks!
@DreamForIvy I got mine at 8:35 AM
Did anyone else submit their application/ teacher rec/scores close to the deadline? My teacher rec was submitted on Halloween and my scores were sent out by CB on the 28th. Wolverine Access says they were both received today, so I’m kinda worried they’re not considered EA. Also, does anyone know long it takes for UMich to send emails confirming whether your app is EA or RD?
@edgegops I got my email confirming my app is EA 8 days after submitting all of my credentials. I know friends who have received it 3 days after.
I got an invitation to the HAIL interview. If I feel like this interview won’t help in any way, will it show poorly if I don’t go? I’ve read over the list of questions someone posted earlier and I feel like I can’t someone of the college related questions adequately.
I also got an invitation to the HAIL interview. From what I have read it cannot negatively affect your application process. However, is there any significant way that it may actually help your admission chances? If so, how?
@edegops I freaked about the “received” date too but scoured the questions page until I found this https://umich.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/2027/kw/application%20status
