one of the people on the phones at the office of admissions is telling me that they don’t look at residency status (in state or out of state) while deliberating applications.
Is this true?
I’ve always had the impression that In-state applicants had an easier time than out of state.
Someone said in either this thread or the 2020 EA thread that instate EA applicants have a 40% chance of getting accepted as opposed to the average 26%. Not sure if its true though.
My residency was changed to in state but all U of M EA applicants from my school that I know of are still “EA requested”.
Anyone else’s residency get messed up? Mine says “self reported residency in state” and “U-M determined residency out of state”
I’ve been instate my whole life so it’s weird…
@c011e9e If there was an error, you have to apply to fix it. It seems to take longer for IS kids because I think they check to verify if you are actually IS.
Also can anyone verify If I am missing anything (haven’t been qualified for EA) and if my dual enrollment community college transcript is supposed to be here? The blank row on the bottom is making me anxious because Michigan State shows my community college transcript. http://i. imgur .com/RHiFijg.png (remove spaces)
@APlennox I’m still EA-requested and not qualified, so will it maybe be corrected when they check that I’m qualified? Or should I look to apply to fix it now?
I feel like U of M is reading this thread because they always seem to update my WA an hour or two after I post about something. Just received EA qualified.
I have twin sons that applied EA. One got an email telling him to set up Wolverine account and on there it shows that he is qualified as an EA applicant. Other S got email that did not mention Wolverine account, but the email says that he is qualified for EA status. Anyone know why the difference? They are applying to different colleges.
Hey all, I accidentally said I will graduate high school 05/01/16 not 05/01/17, but I listed myself as a senior in high school and my transcripts are dated correctly…how would I go about changing that (and should I?) could that be making my status “EA-Requested” not “EA-approved”? Thank you!
@emxplusb - I think you should call admissions office to get that fixed. But that will not be why your status has not changed from “requested” to “approved”. @DreamforIvy - UM gets a LOT of applications. Give them some time to process. Also, you can send them an email. They responded to my questions right away. Coincidentally or not, my status also changed from “requested” to “approved” at the same time.
@DrCounsel It might be college based. I applied to CoE and never got any email notifications about my application status that other people got besides for the one with my WA login.
I am an international applicant and my status changed from requested to qualified. My dad thinks it means im almost accepted but i doubt it. Can anyone explain?
