Hi
My daughter auditioned in january and was led to believe due to their early admissions policy, would be hearing quite soon. Has anyone heard back from them. An acceptance or rejection? Many thanks

My s just auditioned at Unifieds and really enjoyed it. Does Michigan have EA or rolling admissions? I’m not sure about that. I will let you know if we hear anything, but I think I’ve read that decisions may be posted on Wolverine access. So you may want to try checking the portal.

hi Ewanes
Actually, my daughter just texted me… she did not get into Michigan. THey must have sent the emails out today. She auditioned in January, the first day, so you may hear soon. Best of luck to him!

So sorry to hear this, and thanks for the info. This is definitely the hard part of it all. I hope your daughter has other good choices. We went try to keep all expectations as low as possible, but it is hard nonetheless. Thanks for your good wishes!

I think they have rolling admissions. My friend’s daughter heard she was accepted on February 7th and she did not apply EA.

NightOwl: Do you know when/where your friend’s daughter auditioned?

February 1st at UMichigan.

How did you find out your sighted was rejected Divaanne? Did they send we an email or did she just not get an acceptance call or email. Still waiting to hear something here!

Whoops Divaanne I mean your daughter not sighted. Lovely iPhone. I have to start proof reading. Anyway my son totally dejected because he hasn’t heard anything. He texted me from school today saying he was rejected. When I asked him how he found out he said by not hearing anything. Oy!!! This is going to be a long few weeks!

On the MT thread some people have said its posted on wolverine access. Best of luck to all those waiting for UM

Hi,
My daugher recieved an email two weeks ago from the school.
Best of luck!

Muttle1, your son should def not worry yet!!! I’m a current prospective as well, and I’ve been told (from someone in the current freshman class, on another thread) that last year’s class was still hearing acceptances quite a while after the general release date. Also, thought a lot of Acting majors heard last week, the great majority of acceptances/rejections sent out were MTs, as far as I can tell. Break legs to everyone!!!

Thanks. Strangely much calmer this week. We shall know soon enough. As I said to my son, you can only go to one school at a time. Some may say yes and some may say no. That’s life (but some better say yes! Heehee)

Hey guys! I’m a current freshman BFA actor at UMich. I’ve been reading along and I just wanted to clear up a few things so that the hearsay doesn’t drive you crazy! Haha First of all, admissions (and admissions schedules) for the MT department and the the Theatre department are very different. They happen in the same admissions department but they aren’t connected as far as the schedule is concerned. EVERY Musical Theatre decision was sent out on the same day about a week and a half ago. Theatre decisions are rolling. They go out until they are done. Also the decisions are very spread out. Like someone on this thread already said, we heard last year at VERY different times. Some heard right on time. Some heard very late. Some heard just a few days after their audition. GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!!

Thank you for your thoughtful post!

Thanks SO MUCH for this update and clarification of the admissions decision process UmichBFA2016. It has been unnerving for the applicants who auditioned for the BFA acting program at Michigan and are still waiting to hear. It is also confusing keeping the posts about the MT program and the acting program separate. My D auditioned on 2/8 and hasn’t heard anything yet, so we are keeping our fingers crossed.

So glad I finally found this page. I haven’t heard anything yet and had no idea how many had or were still waiting.

Anything at all? News or insight? I feel like it’s a big void regarding when the decisions will be coming!!

I haven’t heard anything yet! Sorry!

My D hasn’t heard a word. We thought we might hear something by today since it has been 4 weeks since her audition and we were told to expect a decision around now at the parent meeting. Hang in there!
