No. From what I’ve heard, scholarships come through snail mail.
Yes. Via snail mail maybe a week or so ago.
Are there any in state students who have received honors or merit aid thus far?
My in-state DS23 received the honors but not any merit scholarship yet …
Son (oos) accepted to CSE today. Applied on 10/21.
Wow, that is a quick turnaround! My son didn’t get his application in until today. I am guessing that the process may slow down if they are receiving a big pile of Nov 1 apps.
My son was accepted to the College of Science and Engineering yesterday. He is OOS. He has a 93 UW average and 1380 (700 math). His application was complete on 10/20. He is happy to have the acceptance!
My daughter was accepted on Monday, got e-mail late afternoon.
CLA, in state, test optional, 37 dual enrollment college credits, 3.89 GPA/3.82 college GPA. She is applying for music as well so onward and upward!
I do think they hold some apps in batches from certain programs and from OOS students, so definitely don’t panic if your student hasn’t heard yet.
(ETA - downloaded on Oct 21, heart on Oct 31.)
I was trying to figure out why some people heard quickly, what it meant, etc. and DS college counselor, who used to do college admissions, told me that it all depends on who reads your kid’s application. They all get to them at different times (unless the school has a very specific “reading” process with common times). In summary, it’s hard to predict when you’ll hear and how long it takes doesn’t necessarily mean anything.
My son has not received email for portal yet, how long does the college sent email for the portal?
My son submitted on Sunday through common app, and received the portal activation today. He was wondering about it too, since most of the schools sent their portal activation emails more quickly. All is well now.
Same!! Received it just now
Did you all know that the housing application is open now? They assign housing priority based on when you apply. Waiting until April will still get you housing but you might not like what you get.
Can you apply for housing if you are not admitted yet?
Yes. The housing contract states that “prospective students may apply for University housing before being admitted to the University, but they are not eligible for an assignment to University housing until after they are admitted to the University and have confirmed they have accepted admittance.” Thanks @CheddarcheeseMN for reminding us to apply.
DS wants Bailey, so I think we’re safe holding off
(For those of you that don’t know, Bailey is on SP campus and people aren’t exactly fighting to get in there).
I saw you in some other threads too, I think our sons applied to similar colleges
For those that have been accepted, did your son/daughter receive an email or was it just posted in their portal?
My son received an email notification that there was an update posted to his application tracker on 10/24 (his application was submitted on 10/12 and deemed complete on 10/17). After 10 days, the physical copy of the acceptance letter arrived at our home mailbox.
For seniors who are anxious about acceptances: I submitted my app on Oct. 25th, received my portal info on the 27th, got confirmation of a complete application on the 28th, ID on the 30th, and received an acceptance today (Nov. the 7th)!!
I applied to the Carlson school of management!
