Thank you, good luck to you too. I agree with @CAGRL because the one I knew accepted for EA II had lower stats. Really don’t know the method that they use here

Sometimes with the larger public universities that get tens of thousands of applications, it depends on the “reader” of the application. They work on different schedules based on their workload so there is often no rhyme or reason why one application is accepted before another one. Hope that makes sense.

I think when you apply close to the 11/1 date it takes a little longer. I remember my D21 applied about 11/1 and she heard back on 12/21 (I remember bc we were going to a solstice party and she saw the email in the car on the way). So hang in there, I’m sure you will hear very shortly!

I did finally hear back yesterday and I got it- yay! It’s my first acceptance so pretty exciting. Thanks everyone for all the encouragement and reassurance while I was waiting for my decision. And best of luck to everyone still waiting!

Has anyone heard back from UMN on a day other than Mondays?

Every decision I’ve seen discussed on here was on a Monday. My son applied in September (EA I) and is still waiting for a decision. OOS - New York. Good luck!

Posting for future applicants because these types of comments were so helpful to us when creating my son’s college list: accepted into CSE for engineering in mid-Sept (a week after applying), received merit letter in the mail in early Dec ($40k/4yrs, OOS). After a great visit in Oct but ultimately determining UMN was not the right fit, he stopped checking his portal so we’re unsure if there were any portal updates between Oct and Dec. Good luck to all!
