@HSstudentNC they have a transfer equivalency chart and that’s what I used. It didn’t have the equivalency for three of my classes but it had the rest.
Are you looking on your Carolina Connect at the transfer section? It should show up there as well.
Accepted off the waitlist!
Congrats! I see that you were a spring admit so they just moved you up!!!
I went to the Academics section of Connect Carolina and then “view my transfer credit report” as well as "view my course hisory"can they are both blank.
Email. Then I read the letter on Carolina Connect.
What? I thought waitlist decision will be made after May 15?
@HSstudentNC That was one thing that I read on the transfer page of 2017 as people were frustrated on waiting for the transfer evals and financial aid. I will tell you all of sophomores, juniors and seniors registered all ready. It looks like transfers and freshman can register starting tomorrow.
I would register for classes you think you will need and when the transfer report comes out you can adjust your schedule. Trust me when I say this. My son was on a waitlist for a certain class and he was number 11 on the list and he got into the class. People are consistently changing classes up until last minute. In the end you will get the classes you need
Thank you so much for that. I will register tomorrow based upon my degree requirements and change it after the fact once my credit report is available. @Nurse001
Can I access the Tar Heel Tracker without accepting my admissions offer? I’ve been trying to figure out what classes to take, but it’s been hard and there are a lot of pages that I can’t access yet.
Also, for 2017 Fall I saw this:
Fall Registration begins 4/4/2017
Bills to be generated on Due Date July 21, 2017
If payment is not received by August 15, classes may be cancelled.
Doesn’t this mean that you don’t have to pay until August 15?
From my perspective, no. You don’t have to pay your bill before the due date, but there will be a hold on your account preventing you registering class for the following term.
Yeah Yeah, but like the due date is only August 15, which is still a long time out. So theoretically, I could accept my spot in the University, register for classes and if I get accepted from my other University, then I can just drop those classes and withdraw. I can’t commit until May 1, but I also don’t want to be stuck with bad classes, because everyone else registers before May 1.
Yes you can accept your spot but you will lose your $250.00. Other than that you can register for classes and no payment is due until middle of July @Vincent1997
@Vincent1997 If you choose to do that, please let the university know you decide to withdraw as soon as possible, so they can take another person off from the waitlist.
Hi everyone,
I met with a few Academic Advisors today at UNC and got a few questions answered. If you haven’t gotten your transfer credit report yet, no worries (I’m still missing mine). Every one of the advisors suggested I go ahead and build my schedule and register for it as I think it will be, and then wait for the report to see if it was correct. If by chance something doesn’t transfer, contact admissions and see if you can get it to transfer. If not, then you can find an alternative course to fit into your schedule.
Two of the advisors also told me that the Admissions Department puts in every course manually for transfer students, so it takes them quite a bit of time. That’s why transfer credit reports are throttled. Some accepted students get theirs immediately, while others take a bit longer. They suggested to make contact with the Admissions Department if you haven’t received a report by Monday or Tuesday.
I also met with Mr. Soberl, the chair of the Transfer Advising Committee, and he gave me some great information about the Transfer Welcome Reception. If you plan to enroll into a profession school (Business, for instance), then you should definitely attend the reception and meet with Kenan-Flagler Admissions or other department admissions and network to prepare for a future interview to be accepted in. Other professional schools will do the same.
If anyone has any questions they would like asked, I’d be happy to run to UNC campus or contact anyone I’ve met. Let me know!
Also, if you want to be ahead of the game, apparently our transfer registration opens at 8:45am sharp tomorrow!
Hope some of this helps, and GO TARHEELS!
We also have a facebook group for anyone interested. We’d love to see everyone join! CConfidential won’t let me link it, so I had to separate it with an underscore: https://www.facebook_.com/groups/1806918779614089/
Wait, really confused. So they let someone in off the waitlist already? Thought these decisions wouldn’t be available until later?
I can’t find any open times to chat with an advisor. Did you just go in during their “walk-in” times? I live about an hour away at the moment so I don’t mind making a drive down there. I am going to sign up for what I think is right but I want to be sure I’m taking the right path. @joshch26
I got an email that they were opening up “off the books” advising appointments. There are openings as soon as Monday. I’m doing that and meeting by phone because I’m 2 hours from Chapel Hill. As far as I know, they are identical to other advising appointments. @crunchymommy
@nduclaunc Please forgive me for the confusion! I was technically already accepted they just bumped me up to the fall! Have courage and stay positive!
