<p>Does anyone know the notification date for those who applied to UNC Chapel Hill regular decision? I have heard March 20th... do they normally release decisions any time before this saturday?</p>
<p>On the website, it says march 21. I heard that it may be 0:00 on the 21st? Im going to stay up all night if this is true</p>
<p>Just got rejected today! A letter came in the mail. So disappointed for my daughter because I know UNC is her first choice.</p>
<p>Idddl27, are you sure? did you open the letter? If so, is it a rejection to the university and not to a particular program/scholarship? I was under the impression that everyone heard at once via their UNC portal on the day advertised (March 20 or 21) and not before. Hoping for your daughter’s sake that you’re wrong 
My son applied early, learned his status by going online on January 31, and then got the actual letter later that week. Hmmmmm.</p>
<p>She’s not home from school yet but I held it up to the light and could clearly read “We regret to infor you that we are unable to offer you admission to the University of North Carolina”. She is going to be crushed!</p>

<p>Got the letter around 1pm today (Thurs. 3/18/10)</p>

<p>thank you nj_mom, im from virginia. i checked my unc portal right after i saw the letter but there was nothing… (this really caught me off guard becuase i was counting down the days until march 21st!)</p>

<p>i’m from illinois and i’m leaving on sunday to visit unc! i applied ea and was deferred, so i really really hope that i get in!!</p>

<p>The portal messages changed a bit when you check application status- no green dots - just this message:
Thank you for submitting your application. Your decision is not yet available.</p>

<p>The green dot has been replaced with the above statement on my D UNC portal.</p>
<p>Does it look like accepted RD’s are getting letters, and rejected RD’s are having to wait on the website?</p>
<p>No - because some people have gotten RD rejection letters</p>
<p>From what has been reported on these forums, it seems the majority of those receiving letters have been OOS. My guess is they may have mailed OOS a little earlier in hopes of timing letter with on-line status, but again that is a guess.</p>
