There are 138 admitted students that don’t have a dorm as of yet…
Seriously? I don’t recall that ever happening before. I still speak with parents whose kids are there and it has not been mentioned, and when my daughter was there they offered housing all four years.
At an admitted student event this year we were told guaranteed housing for 4 years so maybe this is normal/common. It’s our oldest child so this is all new to us.

Anyone hear anything new regarding waitlist?
I heard yesterday from a mother that has children at small private school in NC that they know someone that was admitted last week of the waitlist. Im not sure if this is accurate information or not. Has anyone heard anything about more any students being admitted off the waitlist?
Called today and they said they’re still evaluating and aren’t even sure if they’re going to do another round or not. If they are going to, it’s going to be June 30.
Yes I heard 2 boys were admitted at a local private school here in charlotte on may 26th. Those are the only 2 waitlisted people I’ve heard of getting accepted

I knew I wasn’t going crazy. UNC did have their 2022–23 CDS up, but they took it down. I went through the Wayback Machine to find it. Hopefully, the information up there can sort of “help” estimate how many students will get in this year, but I’m very doubtful that many of us will. A total of 7,258 were waitlisted; 5,392 accepted the waitlist, and 383 got off the waitlist, giving us a 7.1% acceptance rate.
It’s likely less in reality. That many got off because as they went to people, they declined so they went to more.
One doesn’t know the year to year WL yield.

The mother I heard from said it was a girl that was admitted from a small private school near Winston Salem.
I just called UNC, they saying that they’re still accepting students from the waitlist but on a rolling basis now! I’ve also asked them about the situation of housing, especially their issue of admitted freshmen with housing… they told me that admitted waitlist students will have housing. (Housing and their department are very connected)

That’s strange, because somebody in the parent group received an email yesterday (the student received the email) stating that “in all likelihood” the student will not get on campus housing (as a sophomore transfer student). Maybe it’s different for freshmen.
Yes! I called in and asked about the waitlist for first years, plus about the situation for freshmen housing. I didn’t ask about the transfers unfortunately.

That’s ok, I was talking with somebody in the parent group (who I am friendly with) who was affected.
Momentarily forgot about college confidential and the fact that I was on the waitlist at UNC but just came on here to say I just got an email and got officially rejected

My daughter received the sophomore guarantee yesterday…… there is still hope of you haven’t heard anything yet.
My daughter also received the sophomore transfer guarantee. She wrote her LOCI in February with updates on senior year. She was also a double legacy, but in-state, so it may or may not have factored in. Good luck to everyone in the future!
