Hey, everyone!
I am currently a junior in high school and maintain a 4.65 weighted GPA. UNC is the only school that I am truly interested in attending. I have only made A’s since I have been in high school. I take honors classes with a few non-honors electives. This year, I am taking AP Biology and AP Language and Composition. I will also be taking an online class through the community college. I am planning on taking one or two more AP classes along with the second online class my senior year. My main problem that I foresee is extracurricular activities. I don’t do sports or participate in many school activities. I work part-time at Panera Bread, and I am in Math Club and am planning on joining the Science National Honor Society if I meet the requirements. I am planning on starting a God’s Not Dead Club this year. I am also an ambassador at school. Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
I forgot to mention that I am an in-state resident. I want to stay in NC so that I can stay near my family.
Have you taken the SAT or ACT?
Not yet. I will take the ACT towards the end of this school year. I took the ACT PLAN test (practice ACT for sophomores) and ranked for selective schools. Thanks for the response!
“UNC is the only school that I am truly interested in attending.”
I think that many students who have matriculated at a college or university could tell you that you shouldn’t put all your eggs in one basket. The guidance counselors at our school like to say that you should come up with several schools you could love, not just one. So while attending UNC is a very commendable goal, you need to identify a safety school within NC where you would be a shoo-in for admission and which you can afford, as well as other schools that you could love going to. (If you haven’t done so already.)
What was the ACT range indicated by your results on the PLAN?
