UNC Class of 2020 EA Discussion Thread

@karlmarx2020 Pretty sure everyone is hearing that

@janice98 I’m out of state

@klm168602: If the Naviance results for our school are any guide, your chances are low. Of course, admissions is not just a matter of GPA and test scores; only the admissions office knows for sure, and if you applied EA, your question should be answered in about ten days.

Very nervous and waiting to hear! Do you think I have a good chance?

@annburnsmor Can you stop posting the chance me posts? No one wants to see them

@renegade23 Your comments sound rather antagonistic recently and are unnecessary . The OP specifically mentions sharing of stats. While that may not mean specifically “chance me”, it doesn’t exclude it and even includes the format that @annburnsmor used as an outline for her post.

While it is understandable that a lot of folks might be stressed about the upcoming admission’s decisions, there is no need to post negative comments towards others.

Hope your day becomes more enjoyable and that you do not have to endure the reading of additional posts that are not to your liking.

@karlmarx2020 I apologize for my rude behavior. I’ve had some issues at home that have carried over to CC. My bad to everyone in this thread.

There have been a number of chance me’s posted here lately, each followed by someone asking the poster to not post chance me, as there is a forum for that. They are generally only permitted on that forum. Don’t feel too bad renegade.

@annburnsmor: If the Naviance results for our school are any guide, your test scores and GPA suggest that you are in a “gray area,” and could go either way (and I think that your ECs are good). Of course, admissions is not just a matter of GPA and test scores; only the admissions office knows for sure, and if you applied EA, your question should be answered in about ten days.

@renegade23 No need to apologize. I hope things get better at home for you and your family and that you have several desirable schools to select from over the coming months - each with great packages. Good Luck.

I think how this usually goes it that “Chance Me” requests have their own thread. The “Stats” that go on this thread are shown when someone is Accepted/Deferred/Rejected. So we’ll see plenty of Stats on this thread once UNC starts notifying everyone. Til then, I think people are correct in that there are other threads for “Chance Me’s”. Good luck to everyone including @annburnsmor .

It’s a little ridiculous that so many people are doing chance me posts. The only people who know if you got in or not is admissions. You’re just going to have to wait two more weeks to hear back. You are not the only person who is stressed out about the decisions.

Has there always been link to the “enrollment shopping cart?” on the portal?

@marcymar Never noticed it before. Quite curious.

@marcymar @Chartwells that has always been there for me

Didn’t know this wasn’t the right thread for “Chance Me.” my bad. good luck to everyone.

Calling for snow late this week in chapel hill…hopefully no impact on the decisions but it has delayed them in past, so something to keep an eye out for.

has anybody heard anything about decisions coming out at the end of this week?

Sorry, no. I believe the general opinion is the 29th, but I am sure we are all eager to hear an earlier date if you have some kind of new information.
