“1 B from ninth grade painting is tainting my transcript”
Hahah, I know your pain, that B in Masonry from freshman year still haunts me to this day
anyone know when we will hear about scholarship day, excel carolina, or honors carolina?
@mutiyo @karlmarx2020 @plswantmepls I remember reading on the website that we’ll get an email within a week!
sure someone kind enough will post here when excel carolina email goes out
Accepted with full ride (OOS, Carolina Scholarship)
How did you learn about the scholarship @Snpdrgn
I’m not sure when Excel@Carolina invitations will be sent out this year, but when my sister was accepted in 2014, she was accepted as an OOS on 1/30 and received an Excel@Carolina invitation on 2/4.
@graceann I received an email notifying me about the scholarship around an hour ago
@Snpdrgn Wow! Congratulations! I suspect that UNC scholarships are super hard to get.
My application is still under review
got the tar heel merit scholarship (in state). anyone heard about honors or excel? or the chancellor’s science scholarship?
@globalgirl3 Accepted just means that you may consider they school as a prospective place you’ll attended. Because UNC is Early-Action, it is non-binding and you may still choose to enroll in a different school. If UNC were Early Decision, which it is not, then you would have to withdraw all other applications to your other schools and commit to attending UNC.
So are all the scholarship invitations sent out? Or are just a few people hearing back?
I don’t think the general invites to scholarship day have been sent yet, but I am not 100% sure. Someone said, “I got in to UNC with a full ride,” but that seems unlikely because no one gets those type of scholarships without interviewing for them. We should see the notification in a few days. Some specific scholarships have been released though, I think.

@HenryK I received an email yesterday about the Carolina Scholarship, which is a full ride to UNC Chapell Hill for four years.
The email stated, “Congratulations! You have earned a Carolina Scholarship, which will cover charges for tuition, fees, on-campus room and board for four years of undergraduate study at UNC – Chapel Hill. In addition to this funding, you will have access to all of the resources and opportunities of the UNC Scholars Program.”
In addition, the scholarship dinner invite came out this morning too.
