Does anyone know when we’ll be able to register for classes?
Also, some of y’all were talking about seeing a registration date on connectcarolina, for some reason I don’t see it.
Accepted! OOS transfer stats for reference.
College GPA: 4.0, just over 100 credits completed (did running start program + another year at a CC)
ACT: 35, M35 R35 S36 E35
HS GPA: 3.92, 4.15 excluding freshman year
Extracurriculars:
I didn’t participate in any traditional high school extracurriculars.
Part-time jobs. I was active on my community college’s campus.
I have a unique passion that I wrote about in my essays, though it’s unconnected to my major.
I’m glad I got this acceptance ahead of the decision schedule for most transfer applications. It’s good to know I have a spot at a great school already secured–with full-need of an EFC of $0 being met.
Do I need to submit a deposit in order to get my financial aid?
Also again, how do I resubmit FAFSA?
Called Financial aid, they said it was a glitch and they’re getting a lot of calls about it. They have my financial aid on file, as long as you submitted before March 1st you should be good.
@reidtw you can google it so you can see the exact steps but all you need to do is log back into your fafsa and you’ll be given the option on the first page to make corrections to your fafsa. After you select that they’ll give you the option to update schools and resubmit. Hope that helps
Making an ONYEN doesn’t mean I accepted, does it? I just received an email saying “Welcome to the Carolina family!.. as you enter your first semester with us in Fall 2020”.
I didn’t press that I accepted yet.
Is anyone else having a hard time signing into Sakai?
Making an onyen does not commit you to UNC.
They sent an email saying to enroll as soon as possible, and to go into Sakai, but I literally can do neither of those. Everything relating to enrollment in ConnectCarolina says I don’t have access for it, and the Sakai page is unavailable. Does anyone else have this issue?
The same thing is happening to me. The page won’t load for some reason
sorry to rehash, but where are you guys seeing the checklist for financial aid?
Hey guys, so because you are so new to the system, sakai and Connect Carolina haven’t updated your enrollment dates. If there is a checklist for financial aid, it would be on the right side of Connect Carolina. Given that most of you have been in the system as an accepted student with an ONYEN for less than 48 hours, some information may not yet be displayed on Connect Carolina. In a few days, it will show up. Including your enrollment date which unfortunately is one of the last ones compared to returning students.
@justicebeaver I had a hard time finding that too since it isn’t on the right hand when you first log in. You have to log into your ONYEN, click on Student Finances on the top right and then there’s a to do list on the right hand side.
@HSstudentNC is it normal to not be able to log into the Sakai account yet? Or is there an issue with my account?
I did the running start at a CC too. In my understanding, there aren’t many states offer running-run program except WA. Therefore, are you from WA?
I think housing for us (i.e., transfer students) starts at late-June.
Yes it is normal, check in the next few days it should be available. Sakai will not be very important for now. The main concern at first is Connect Carolina (financial aid offer, registration, transfer credit reports, etc.) Sakai will be where your professors upload their class pages (resources, grades, course announcements, tests/quizzes etc.) Typically professors don’t upload their Sakai pages until about a week before classes begin.
If you aren’t able to log into Sakai by Monday, I would send an email to UNC help or ITS support.
I got my housing assignment in late May. I applied For housing in mid-May. You basically list your roommate preferences, any special accommodations and rank a list of 10 residence halls that you prefer to live in. Housing staff tries to group you together with other transfers with similar preferences where spaces are available.
Not Washington but actually Oregon. Not too far, though. I don’t know if I would do the program again if given the chance, but things worked out okay… at least I will have all the dreaded UNC gen-eds completed ahead of time, lol
