Hi everyone! I just got in off the waitlist and just wanted to wish everyone a good luck if you’re still waiting on a decision or a congratulations if you’ve already received yours!!
Here are some of my stats for reference
OOS Applicant
Applied as incoming sophomore
From: University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign
Major: Chemistry, pre-pharmacy track
GPA: 3.94
SAT: 1340
One letter of rec from TA
Great ECs from high school with leadership positions, not that much EC in college but I was in the honors program
I honestly believe I was accepted due to my essays bc there were certainly some parts within my application that didn’t look so appealing and I didn’t have any “pulls”; however, I think my essays were strong and most likely made up for it
I received my acceptance last night, and I had just sent in my spring transcript that morning (so I’m not really sure if that impacted my decision or not bc they prob didn’t receive it immediately)
Anyway, I know this has been a frustrating process of constantly waiting for a decision and feeling doubtful about yourself looking at other ppl’s great stats (because I sure did), but just remember that someone else’s achievements do not discredit your own! You all have something about you which is why unc hasn’t given up on u!!
Welcome new transfers! There’s a searchable Facebook group (UNC Transfer Students -2019). From there we can add you to our GroupMe we have set up.
Also accepted from the waitlist. Still trying to figure out if I will attend since i was thinking of doing a BSW and UNC doesnt offer that. Deciding between UNC and other public universities at the moment.
@Kittenz911 which other public’s are you comparing?
To all that got their decisions what year are you guys? Trying to figure our my chances because I currently have 29 credits, which technically is a freshman (very close to a sophomore) and I think chances are super low.
Hi there - congratulations I just wanted to check in and ask whether you found out yesterday (Wednesday) or earlier. Sorry to be pesky!
@fancypants2019 NC State and ECU both offer the BSW program. Trying to figure out if the opportunities at UNC outweigh the 1 year saved when getting a MSW after having a BSW.
Has anyone received a decision since the 20th or the 21st?
@tastelesspepper yes, i heard back on the 23rd and i got in off the waitlist
I’ve just heard back this evening (June 5th) and have been accepted.
Hey guys! Just for future students applying and referring to this in the near years, as of June 14th at 7 pm UNC Chapel Hill released all decisions for all the rest of the students (most probably all rejections as they have filled up all spaces).
