CMU asks why I've chosen a certain major/program but the thing is, I have NO idea what I want to major in. I only have a couple of subjects I'm interested in and want to continue pursuing in college.

I also don't know what to mention when they say "programs" .. I'll be applying to Humanities and Social Science. but

look carefully at the H&SS website. Read about all the majors that you could potentially be interested in for that school. Look at their projects, the classes they take. You may find several things that you are interested in. You don’t have to commit to anything whatsoever, just show your interest. I’ll bet if you look hard enough, you can find things you like, relate them to what you have done in the past and want to do in the future. Use a little creative writing, be in a good mood when you start writing. It is eye opening how you might think you’re totally disinterested in a certain CMU school, then you start getting information about the major, the classes and projects they do—and you realize how interested you could be.
