I'm talking specifically about Carnegie Mellon. I'm writing the WHY CMU essay, and I am applying undecided. I talked about my interest in a variety of fields, both humanities and science. Specifically, I talked about the classes I want to take in history, foreign language and sciences at Carnegie Mellon. I am also talking about a social group I am committed to joining (and have done so in high school).

Do you think my essay sounds like just a list of interests? My problem is, I am geniunely interested in these areas and that's the main reason I am undecided about my major. But after writing this essay and reading over it, I feel like I've created only a list of things I want to study..

any advice??
