Undeclared

If an applicant chooses to apply undeclared to say LSA, can the pick an engineering major after the sophomore year? Or will it have to be within LSA? If limited to LSA, is that how it works in other schools also? Thx.

If you find later that you want to do engineering you can apply to transfer from LSA to Engineering. It’s very easy to do. You can’t major in Engineering while being in LSA, but you can switch to LSA and then major in engineering.

It is possible to transfer between colleges within UMich, but you may need to catch up with some requirement courses afterward.

Yea, you can do it, but it will usually end in you taking your courses in a somewhat unusual order.

If an applicant is interested at all in Engineering, I would suggest they apply straight to CoE. It is much easier to transfer from CoE to LSA then vice versa
