I am interested in doing research as an extracurricular activity, but I am at a community college in Arizona. Is that possible...? lol

I want to transfer to as good of a school as I can to double major math/physics and research experience would help apparently, even though I am surprised research is even possible at the sophomore level considering I am only learning taking lower division requirements for my major. But it seems other people are doing it.

I’m a student at a community college and I’ve been doing research at CWRU for about a year now. Everything I’ve done thus far is well beyond the lone semester of Gen Chem I’ve had. Everything.

My CC has partnered with several 4-year school in the area and top-ranked hospitals. For the sole purpose of giving up (paid) research experience. If your school doesn’t have a similar program, you should look into local universities and hospitals where they might allow you to volunteer. My research experience has been great. People have had the chance to go to large national conferences to present their stuff and it’s really helped me figure out what I want to do in the future. I’d highly recommend it. And the connections you make…priceless.
