Hello! i just got accepted to CSULB and on my acceptance letter/email it says that I was accepted as Nursing RN BS. However my friend also applied as a nursing major, but got accepted under "pre-nursing". I was wondering what is the difference?

Hey, I’m a pre-nursing student!

I’m assuming you are a freshmen. Unfortunately, I think you applied to the “wrong” major. Nursing RN BS are for registered nurses who already have their license and are going back to school to get their Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN). I’m assuming that is not the case for you. You should have applied as a pre-nursing major who needs to complete prerequisites and then apply to the nursing program. Don’t worry though, it’s not a big deal. You should be able to fix it at your SOAR date.

Hey, I had the exact same problem too! So glad I’m not alone. :)

@The Power of One: I feel like I was only accepted to CSULB because of the major I chose, which was Nursing RN BS and not Pre-Nursing. Do you think they will rescind my acceptance when they find out I chose the wrong major? :(

Being a pre-nursing major is pretty much being undeclared. Don’t worry about it. They’ll fix everything on your SOAR date.
