I have an unexcused absence from freshman year because my homeroom teacher forgot to mark me as present during role call during that day(I was in a homeroom of ~65 people). Oddly, the school didn't call home or anything, probably because I went to all my other classes. By the time I found out about the mistake 3 months later when report cards were sent home, it was too late to do anything. Will this unexcused absence haunt me later when I apply to tier 1 colleges? Should I explain what happened on my application?

It doesn’t matter.

Uhh, No. Getting caught skipping would probably be a problem, but an absence?

You are so screwed. Community college for you.

(No, it won’t matter.)

I hope you’re kidding with this question.
