Universities that provide out of state fee waiver for international students?

Dear Everyone,

This is the first time I am using CC, so apologises in advance.

Now I am in a university located in Louisiana, they do offer out of state fee waiver for international students, so if you meet certain requirements, you do not have to pay out of state fees.

Is there any university in US that provide out of state fee waiver for international students?

Thank you.

What university is that?
It’d be more useful if you could actually start the thread with the name of your university…

UMN-Twin Cities has the same deal.

There are a number of public universities that do not have different costs for in-state and out-of-state students (including internationals). Run any of the college-matching search engines for public universities with out-of-state tuition and fees in the price range that you are looking for, and you will be able to find out if there are any affordable options.

Are you looking to transfer? If so, I doubt that you’ll find what you want. Those generous offers are for incoming frosh. I’ve never heard of such an offer for an int’l transfer student.

Are you at McNeese State? Schools like that are very few in number and you’ll have to do your research on this.

In the state of Florida, students from Latin America and the Caribbean (including Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands) are eligible to receive Latin American - Caribbean (LAC) Scholarships at any Florida Public University. In order to qualify, they must be admissible to the university under existing criteria for undergraduate or graduate programs and meet other standards. On the basis of the LAC Scholarship, the student will be classified as a Florida resident for tuition purposes.

Most of the Florida public universities offer “LAC” scholarships that will allow the international student to qualify for the Florida LAC in-state tuition exception.

Right now, I am at Nicholls State University.

Sir, what’s the college-matching search engines? Google? Can you give me an address? Thank you.

Well, some times they do offer if you got ACT 33.

There are too many public university, and some of them won’t put this information on their website.

Thanks, but I do not come from Latin America and the Caribbean. I come from China.

I doubt there are any public universities that offer OOS waiver for international transfer.
FA for US citizen transfer is already limited, and it will be worse for international kids.

UMinnesota-TC and MiamiU do offer scholarships/OOS fee waiver for some internationals. Getting them as a transfer may be difficult, however.

Also, some privates (quite a few LACs) offer good financial aid to some internationals. I believe that someone has posted a list of those schools in this forum. Can you get them as a transfer? Who knows.

Look into each college’s website regarding FA policies for international transfers.
