University Apartments

Howdy!

So I was admitted to the University late enough for the Fall 2011 residence hall to have gotten full. They have had been moving dates because no available housing has been on the spot. They say that there MIGHT be some availability by July the 15th at the EARLIEST, if they open up at all. Their letter put on their website sounds very frightening, so I was thinking, since I'm considered as an International Student, I could apply to their University Apartments, but the only available right now are the single bedroom. The environment is a big turn off. It appears to be full of Married couples, Veterans, and 21 year old and above people. I don't want to be alone in an apartment! I want the ''college experience'' in residence halls sharing it with people most likely my age! I'm afraid I'm not going to like it if I apply for them. Does someone has an experience about the apartments? What do they mean with ''fully furnished'' ? Does that mean that a bed, coach, tv, nightstands are included?
Thanks !!

P.S. I looked around the off campus housing, and it appears that the Apartment Companies have problems with drunk people, lack of parking availability, and horrible management. (Their ratings are low)
If someone has an apartment complex to recommend outside campus, please tell me! at a reasonable price, of course! Thanks! I hope I'm not asking for a lot.

Your best bet would be to wait until dorms/ residence halls open and try to get in. The Gardens 2 is primarily for the younger students, but you have to have sophomore status to be able to sign up for it. The list of amenities for the apartments is here, and if you look on the righthand side, it doesn’t appear a TV is included [University Apartments - Apartment Information](http://reslife.tamu.edu/ua/apts/amenitiesChart.asp) but then again, no dorms get a free TV, but they all get beds, dressers, desks, chairs and closets. Most off-campus dorms usually only receive bad reviews because only people who’ve had bad experiences usually review haha

Another alternative would be to try to see if there are any openings in the private dorms such as Callaway House or Traditions. There you will probably find the college experience you were looking for had you gotten a dorm on campus.
You can also go look for roommates and housing through Off Campus Housing at TAMU: [Off-Campus Students | Offices of the Dean of Student Life - Texas A&M](Texas A&M University | Off-Campus Housing Search)

Good Luck!

Guys! thank you so much !!! Sorry for the delayed reply!
It helped a lot.
